Karla Lundgren Wheeler
Psi Chapter, University of Washington

Extension Director

Karla was elected to National Council as Extension Director in 2022, after serving for over 20 years in multiple national roles. She traveled for a year as a Leadership Consultant and continued with seven years as a Province President, five years as Fraternity Housing Corporation Director and five years as Director of New Chapters for three chapters. She was also a member of the extension teams at University of Texas at Tyler, University of Wisconsin and Binghamton University and led the recruitment effort at University of Michigan in fall 2022.

In 2020, Karla was a member of Virtual Recruitment Task Force that developed a successful plan for virtual recruitment during the pandemic. At Convention 2022, National Council honored the task force with the Vivian Ulmer Smith Recruitment Award.

Karla earned a bachelor’s degree in editorial journalism and English literature from University of Washington. Her professional experience as a senior recruiter for The Walt Disney Company enhances ZTA’s extension and recruitment practices. She and her husband, Bryan, live in Orondo, Washington, and have two sons, Austin and Zach, who are both members of Sigma Chi Fraternity.
